WERRIBEE CLUBS SCORE SPORT GRANTS
Three grassroots sport and active recreation organisations in Werribee are set to bolster their coaching skills, administration expertise, or score new sports equipment thanks to a share in almost $4000 from the Victorian Government.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas announced the successful applicants from Werribee of the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Sporting Club Grants Program.
The grants provide clubs up to $1,000 for new uniforms and equipment, up to $2,000 for training coaches, officials and volunteers, and up to $5,000 to improve club operational effectiveness.
Grant recipients in Werribee include the Little River and District Pony Club Inc., Wyndham Netball Association, and Werribee Centrals Junior Football Club Inc.
The Program is part of the Victorian Government’s commitment to make community sport more accessible and inclusive, stimulate local economies, build sustainable sport and recreation and volunteer opportunities, and increase local participation.
Since 2015, the Sporting Club Grants Program has invested more than $15.5 million to support clubs and their volunteers across the state, in positive and trying times.
