SCHOOL BUILDING BOOM CONTINUES ACROSS VICTORIA
Families in Victoria’s fastest growing areas are a step closer to getting the state-of-the-art schools they deserve, with the appointment of new principals at all 14 schools opening in 2021 and commencement of community consultation to name the new schools.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Werribee, Tim Pallas MP, today opened consultation for the naming of the new schools, including Wollahra Primary School (interim name) with the Labor Government seeking the community’s input to help find a name for each school that reflects its unique identity, inspires local pride and that makes the school easily locatable.
The consultation period will run until 15 July. To have their say, community members can visit https://engage.vic.gov.au/2021-school-naming.
The foundation principals have now been appointed for all new schools and will select talented and committed staff and build relationships with local families and the community.
The Labor Government is investing an unprecedented $7.2 billion in Victorian school infrastructure, which is delivering more than 1,460 school upgrades and 100 new schools by 2026.
