BUILDING UPGRADES TO DELIVER MAJOR BENEFITS FOR WERRIBEE SCHOOL
Students in Werribee are better placed to achieve their educational best, with the Allan Labor Government rolling out more infrastructure works to renovate and expand Westgrove Primary School.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas announced that Westgrove Primary School has been approved for funding under the successful Minor Capital Works Fund. Through this, it will receive $361,933 to fund roof sealing works on original school buildings – giving local students modern, quality facilities to learn and grow.
The total 22 investments cover 14 projects to refurbish school toilet facilities and five projects to repair school roofs, ensuring safe, quality spaces for students and staff.
Other initiatives receiving support include a project to undertake interior and exterior building repairs, repairs at an existing oval and improvements to an outdoor school sports court.
In the Victorian Budget 2023/24, the Labor Government invested $10 million into the Fund, with all projects from this round to be completed by December 2025 – ensuring every Victorian student receives the safe and inviting school environment they deserve.
First introduced in 2020 as part of the Labor Government’s Building Works Package, the Fund has already supported more than 500 projects across metropolitan and regional areas.
In the past nine years, the Government has invested $14.9 billion to build new schools, delivering more than 1,940 school upgrades across the state – giving all Victorian students access to quality learning facilities no matter where they live.
