Pick My Project
All change begins with an idea and people dedicated enough to make it happen.
The Werribee community is testament to this.
As the local member, it has been my privilege to meet some incredible volunteers; individuals who make it their life mission to help others, and to strengthen our community.
Werribee may no longer be the country suburb it once was, but what it will never lose is that unmistakable country spirit.
That is what makes Pick My Project – a Victorian first community grants initiative with $30 million available to fund local projects – such a special opportunity for the Werribee community.
Residents aged 16 and over can submit an idea for consideration under the program and vote for the projects they think are most important.
All they’ll need is an idea that helps build a stronger community and the backing of a local organisation to help deliver the project.
This initiative recognises that sometimes great ideas are grassroots ideas. Ideas thought of by the community, and voted by the community.
I encourage locals to put forward their ideas, talk to their community, and submit a project for consideration.
I look forward to seeing some great local ideas.
