NEW REGIONAL PARK FOR WERRIBEE
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas has today announced a grant of $3.2 million for the Our Green Heart project, to transform and redevelop Wyndham Park in Werribee.
The $11 million project will include a river trail with walking and cycling paths, an event lawn, river terraces, tables, seating and drinking fountains.
The funding is part of the $50 million Growing Suburbs Fund (GSF), which provides crucial facilities to Melbourne’s fast growing outer suburbs
This is in stark contrast to the Liberals’ thought bubble population plan to move Melburnians to the regions. We are putting our fast growing outer suburbs first providing them with the projects and facilities they need.
Thirty-four community projects were funded across our growing outer suburbs as part of last year’s GSF, which included family and community centres, town centres, parks and reserves and playgrounds based on the needs identified by Councils.
In 2015 the City of Wyndham received $4.15 million toward the delivery of three projects: The Chirnside Park Hub development, the Community Connections project and the Wyndham Aboriginal Community Centre – all key in what is one of Australia’s fastest growing corridors.
The 10 interface councils eligible for funding are; Cardinia, Casey, Hume, Melton, Mitchell, Mornington Peninsula, Nillumbik, Whittlesea, Wyndham and Yarra Ranges.
