MANOR LAKES A NEW LOCALITY
The Victorian Government has responded to community wishes and is today announcing that Manor Lakes will become a registered locality within the City of Wyndham.
Minister for Planning Richard Wynne, confirmed the creation of ‘Manor Lakes’ as an official locality, saying the name change was a logical step forward for the area given
its long association with the local community and considerable support among residents and council.
Numerous naming decisions in the area already reflect the fact that the name is in common usage among local residents describing their area and community.
The Manor Lakes Residents Association has collected more than 1,000 signatures in support of its campaign to have the area formally recognised as Manor Lakes.
The extent and boundaries of the ‘Manor Lakes’ locality will be determined through appropriate consultation with the community and the City of Wyndham.
