LIVING LOCAL FUNDING TO SUPPORT WERRIBEE
The Andrews Labor Government is continuing to support Werribee with the infrastructure and services it needs to grow and thrive.
Minister for Suburban Development Melissa Horne, Minister for Regional Development Harriet Shing and the Member for Werribee Tim Pallas announced funding for local ogranisations through the Labor Government’s Living Local Fund.
Successful funding through the Community Grants Program include:
- $2,875.92 for Parkinson’s Victoria Ltd
- $6,163 for the Iramoo Community Centre Inc
Successful funding through the Suburban Grants Program include:
- $180,000 for Wyndham City Council for the Vincent Crescent Neighbourhood Renewal Project
- $17,230 for the Scout Association of Australia, Victorian Branch, for the Werribee Scout Association Kitchen Upgrades
- $20,000 for Werribee Baptist Church & Wyndham Community Benevolent Foundation Inc. for the Werribee Baptist Church Upgrades
- $20,000 for the Wyndham Park Community Centre for the Wyndham Park Community Centre Ceramics Program Upgrades
More than 400 projects across the state wil be supported through the Fund, with $15 million available for suburban projects and another $5 million for the regions.
Local councils and community organisations have received grants of up to $200,000 for upgrades to shopping strips, playgrounds, community gardens and public art projects, or to buy new equipment or carry out minor refurbishment works.
From playground upgrades in Pakenham to the creation of an Aboriginal community art gallery in Ballarat, the Living Local Fund is supporting a wealth of diverse and important locally led projects right across Victoria.
The Living Local Fund is part of the Government’s Our Suburbs: Living Local and Our Regions: Living Local Initiatives.
