LABOR COMMITS $30,000 TOWARDS EAST WERRIBEE JUSTICE PRECINCT
The Andrews Labor Government today announced $30,000 to assist with development of the East Werribee Justice Precinct in Wyndham, the third fastest growing community in
Australia.
Planning for the Precinct in Wyndham is one of the latest projects to benefit from the Victorian Government’s $9.3 million Community Infrastructure Fund to support Melbourne’s fastest growing areas.
The Labor Government will contribute $30,000 to investigate options for access to justice
services in Wyndham and recommend projected infrastructure needs to inform the development of the East Werribee Justice Precinct master plan, Member for
Werribee, Tim Pallas, said.
Wyndham has experienced the largest and fastest growth in all Victorian local government
areas. This makes it a priority for the Community Infrastructure Fund.
The Community Infrastructure Fund provides grants to local councils to develop infrastructure for Melbourne’s fastest growing communities. Projects include planning and building innovative community facilities and public spaces that improve community connections and help build the economy.

“Wyndham’s current population is 190,000, with the forecast population set to exceed 384,000 by 2036.”
“Such rapid local population growth means there’s a gap in local justice services provision. The Werribee Magistrates Court, built more than 30 years ago to service around 40,000 people, is experiencing significant capacity issues.”
“I look forward to working with Wyndham City Council and the local community on the East Werribee Justice Precinct master plan.”
