BACKING WERRIBEE ATHLETES TO GO NEXT LEVEL

Even more rising Victorian sports stars and teams in Werribee have been awarded travel grants enabling them to compete at the top level.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas announced a grant have been approved in the electorate from the Government’s Athlete Pathway Travel Grant Program. The grants announced will benefit Werribee Little Athletics Centre Victoria Inc., helping them take their skills and compete at the next level.

It will assist athlete Liz to travel to attend the National Athletics Junior Championships.

The Program benefits athletes and teams from a wide range of sport and active recreation activities across Victoria – from volleyball to water polo, fencing to calisthenics.

Since 2015, more than 1,700 grants have been awarded totalling more than $3 million, to help teams and individual athletes reach their goals.

The grants are part of the Government’s strong commitment to sport and recreation, gender equality and encouraging all Victorians to get active.
