Record Number Of Victorians In Jobs
Job numbers under the Allan Labor Government continue to grow, as Victoria’s healthy economy sees more workers securing employment across the state.
Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data released today shows that over 26,000 Victorians found jobs in July, propelling total employment to a record 3.78 million.
More than 850,000 new jobs have been created since the Labor Government was elected nearly 10 years ago.
Victoria’s robust economy continues to drive strong jobs growth and support communities – with more than 120,000 Victorians finding work over the past 12 months alone.
Economic indicators show the Labor Government’s fiscal strategy is working – the Victorian economy is now estimated to be almost 11 per cent larger, in real terms, than before the pandemic.
Deloitte Access Economics predicts that Victoria will lead the nation in economic growth over the next five years.
Victoria’s business investment grew by more than nine per cent in the year to March 2024, more than two percentage points above the national average.
