THREE NEW COMMUNITY CENTRES FOR WYNDHAM

Three new community centres will help deliver services to Wyndham’s rapidly growing community thanks to support from the Andrews Labor Government’s Growing Suburbs Fund.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today announced on behalf of Local Government Minister Shaun Leane that Wyndham City Council will receive $6.3 million from the latest round of the Growing Suburbs Fund.

The funding includes $1.3 million will help deliver the Black Forest Road South Community Centre which will include early childhood facilities, multipurpose community space and Maternal and Child Health. $1 million will go towards the Manor Lakes North Family Centre which will deliver consulting suites, a community kitchen and community and staff meeting rooms.

The Growing Suburbs Fund helps Melbourne’s rapidly developing interface and peri-urban councils deliver high-quality facilities for their communities and has now invested more than $38.3 million to make 25 projects possible across Wyndham. Since its establishment in 2015, the Growing Suburbs Fund has facilitated over $1.07 billion in local infrastructure, created more than 10,200 jobs and supported 299 projects across Melbourne’s fastest growing areas.
