The Victorian Government is helping thousands of children celebrate Children’s Week in October by supporting local councils and not-for-profit organisations with grants for fun and free educational activities.

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas announced two organisations in Werribee will receive grants of up to $1,000 to host COVIDSafe activities for children up to the age of 12 and their families during the annual celebration.

Almost $100,000 worth of grants are being distributed to help recipients celebrate in innovative ways with their communities in line with the coronavirus restrictions in their areas.

Activities and celebrations include free online art exhibitions, dance workshops, arts and crafts lessons, musical and story-telling performances, drawing competitions and where possible outdoor events.

All online activities will be held with cyber-safety in mind and any in-person activity will be subject to public health advice and the epidemiology of the time.

Children’s Week is a national celebration that will run from Saturday, 23 October to Sunday, 31 October 2021.
