WYNDHAM COMMUNITY SPORT AT THE HEART OF GENDER EQUITY
Wyndham can help join the fight to level the playing field for women and girls in sport thanks to a
$100,000 to boost from the Andrews Labor Government.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today announced that grants of up to $5,000 are available to club and community groups in Werribee as part of the new Change Our Game Community Activations Grantprogram.
The Change Our Game Community Activations Grantprogram will support the delivery of sector initiatives that bring together communities to showcase women and girls and further gender equality through sport and active recreation.
Grants will help eligible clubs and community groups across Wyndham establish opportunities for women and girls at the grassroots level to enable them to achieve their full potential both on and off the court.
This new funding joins the already extensive Change Our Game grants portfolio that works alongside initiatives including the $380,000 already committed to the Change Our Game Leadership Scholarships and the Change Our Game Champions program.
Our ground breaking Female Friendly Facilities Fund is also now open and funding significantly with $15 million available, because we know women and girls in [insert electorate] deserve the same opportunities and support as men.
Labor is working hard to improve gender equality in sport, and has recently appointed Dr Bridie O’Donnell as head of Victoria’s first Office for Women in Sport and Recreation to help make it happen.
We are working with councils, local clubs and peak organisations to actively promote inclusive cultures, policies and initiatives that promote female participation on and off the field.
