EXTRA SERVICES ON THE WAY FOR WYNDHAM VALE AND TARNEIT
The Andrews Labor Government is getting Wyndham Vale and Tarneit passengers to all their favourite weekend and evening events, by adding 44 extra train services a week from 27 August.
Member for Werribee Tim Pallas today announced the new V-Line timetable, with 14 extra services on Saturdays and 16 on Sundays.
In a boost for people visiting Melbourne and attending mid-week events, the late-night service on Fridays departing Southern Cross Station at 1:15am for Geelong, will stop at Tarneit and Wyndham Vale every weeknight.
Passengers will also have more options in the evening on weekdays with two extra services, including a 10:04pm Waurn Ponds to Southern Cross and 10:45pm Southern Cross to Waurn Ponds service, both stopping at Wyndham Vale and Tarneit stations.
Wyndham Wale and Tarneit passengers can look forward to improved capacity on six off-peak services each weekday replacing Warrnambool trains which will now run express through the stations.
As more passengers use V-Line, the Labor Government has invested $311.1 million for 39 new VLocity carriages on top of the existing order of 48 new carriages, in order to add capacity to the busiest services.
The times of buses that connect with trains will also be adjusted to reflect the new timetable.
Timetables are now available from www.vline.com.au/27august.
Passengers will be able to pick up printed timetables from stations and plan their trip using the Plan a Journey tool on the V-Line website from Thursday 27 July.
