BUILDING THE FACILITIES OUR VETERANS DESERVE
The Andrews Labor Government and Member for Werribee Tim Pallas MP is inviting local organisations that support veterans to apply now for grants of up to $200,000 to spruce up their buildings and facilities.
Minister for Veterans Robin Scott today opened a new funding round for the Veterans Capital Works Grant Program, which helps eligible organisations fund facility improvements, so they can provide better support and services to their members.
Any organisation in Wyndham that support veterans and their families are welcome to apply, such as ex-service organisations, local government and not-for-profit groups.
The funding could be used for renovation projects that provide all abilities access, improve community access or upgrade memorial halls.
Interested organisations can apply for up to $50,000 through the Veterans Minor Capital Works Grant Program or up to $200,000 through the Veterans Major Capital Works Grant Program.
The grant funding is a new initiative which was announced by the Labor Government in the 2018/19 Victorian Budget. The first round of funding was run last year, with an allocation of $1 million awarded to 20 organisations.
Previous successful grant applications included:
- $100,000 to RSL (Victorian Branch) to refurbish lifts at ANZAC House
- $44,000 to Tramways and East Melbourne RSL for the refurbishment of their emergency accommodation venue
- $17,000 to Bright RSL for their solar power project
Grant applications close on Thursday 4 July 2019. Visit veterans.vic.gov.au/grants for further information or to apply.
