$2.55 MILLION IN GRANTS FOR VICTORIA’S ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERS

Member for Werribee Tim Pallas is encouraging environmental volunteers in Werribee to apply for grants to support their work in protecting and restoring our land and natural environment.
Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Lily D’Ambrosio opened the latest round of the Victorian Landcare Grants, with $2.55 million in Victorian Government funding available to environmental volunteering groups.
Tim Pallas MP said Landcare and other environmental volunteering groups in Werribee can now apply for project grants of up to $30,000 for on-ground works, education and capacity building projects that help to improve the local environment for future generations.
Support grants of up to $500 are also available for new and existing groups and networks to assist with operating costs for Landcare and environmental volunteering across the state.
This funding will be delivered through Victoria’s 10 Catchment Management Authorities (CMAs), demonstrating the important environmental outcomes that can be achieved through collaboration between CMAs, environmental groups, local communities, and the government.
The grants are part of the Victorian Government’s $7.4 million Community Environment Grants package, which is delivering funding for small and large-scale projects dedicated to preserving Victoria’s biodiversity and waterways.
The Victorian Landcare Grants support the implementation of Protecting Victoria’s Environment – Biodiversity 2037, the Government’s long-term plan to protect our environment and Victorians Volunteering for Nature – Environmental Volunteering Plan.
Applications close 5pm Wednesday 16 June 2021. For more information go to environment.vic.gov.au/grants/vlg
